About Us

We are Transformed Communities International (TCI), a US-based non-profit organization dedicated to helping people living in poverty in hard-to-reach areas in Uganda.

As our commitment, we envision transformed, healthy, empowered, and food-secure Ugandan communities who take control of their lives and the future of their next generation.

TCI works with local leaders and their communities to design poverty alleviation strategies.

We seek to be culture-sensitive as we build ownership, accountability and hope among the needy. Our programs promote solidarity among community members and enable them to pursue their own development.

Our Story

Frank and Sue Robb, have visited Western Uganda annually since 2009. Since 2014 we have led groups of educators from Maryland, USA to work with local churches and schools. We have a passion to invest in the youth of Uganda and to educate the poor, including the young girls who are usually overlooked with regard to education in rural communities. 50% of the population is under 15 so it seems clear that this is where we need to focus.

With the view to developing future Ugandan leaders, we have helped struggling schools and poor communities with school supplies, curriculum development and construction of school buildings at Kiburara Alpha Omega Secondary School. We have also supported teachers’ training and professional development to improve teaching skills and enhance the learning experience of the students in both Alpha Omega School and in small rural primary schools.

But all along, we have sensed that something more foundational needs to be addressed not just in the schools but in the villages and families themselves. In July 2019, Eda Michaud, a community development veteran of 27 years accompanied us. She conducted an assessment and strategic planning program together with team members and local Ugandan leaders. We found that at every level the lack of funds was a debilitating factor for individuals and communities.

Due to the enthusiasm of the locals, a wonderful TCI-Uganda team was formed and trained to be the developmental arm for Pastor Moses and Covenant Global Ministries Uganda (CGMU).We are impacting communities so that they can support themselves and the education of their children. Work is also focused on the development of local schools.
