Education for the Poor
We’re working to make education truly accessible for those in poverty!
Poor families believe that through education they can disrupt the vicious cycle of poverty that has engulfed them from generation to generation. By supporting Alpha Omega Secondary School and the local primary schools in hard-to-reach communities, we aim to improve their capacity to make education accessible to the poor. This brings hope to these families.
The Kiburara Alpha Omega Secondary School, and the primary and pre-schools in the villages offer affordable education to the poor. Many village schools don’t have tables and books, or other learning supplies to supplement teaching and learning. The school income cannot cover these due to the low tuition rates they set for their poor community members. TCI’s goal is to work towards self sustaining schools and part of our strategy is Paradigm Shift training for the school communities. However they are not there yet and we invite you to support them by giving any amount to enable our partner schools to provide learning materials and equipment such as tables, blackboards, notebooks, books and other learning materials needed by the children and teachers.
Our current projects are:
Student Tuition. Many students are simply too poor to afford school. Currently we are supporting 36 students at the Alpha Omega Secondary School -$36 a month will enable the schools to provide a scholarship for one student. For more information visit our sponsor page.
School Building & Development. In 2021 and 2022 we built 4 school classroom blocks at four primary schools. We hope to add on one classroom at a time to expand these schools we have had the opportunity to construct.
Teacher Salary Support. While we wait for the student numbers and school reputations to improve, we are now helping provide teacher salaries at the primary schools - all along encouraging sustainability through the principals of Paradigm Shift training.
Sound Financial Practices. Our Accountant and Finance Officer are coaching the book-keepers at the primary schools in sound financial practices and budgeting for the needs of the school.
Paradigm Shift Training. At all the schools we have carried out Paradigm Shift Training. School children are making FAITH gardens at the schools and parents are implementing the training at home.
Teacher Transformational Training. Teachers from the secondary and primary schools are currently being trained by our Education Officer and other trainers during the school holidays.

Projects
Girls Dormitory Construction We helped to fund the completion of a girls dormitory at Alpha Omega School -the building is up and the roof is on and the finishing plastering, painting and windows has recently been completed by Covenant Mercies.
Science Lab and Computer lab development. We believe that there is great potential in the scientific minds of the students of Alpha Omega and we want to help equip the labs so that these minds can be awakened.
